Obituary from Daily Siftings Herald July 31, 1951:
Mrs. Agatha Williams, born December 9, 1882, died July 26, 1951. She joined the Degray Baptist church at an early age. Four sisters, Mrs. Flora Shepherd, Mrs. Caddo Armstrong, Mrs. Chet Bledsoe all of Arkadelphia, one brother, W. C. Terrell of Arkadelphia, one sister at Gurdon, ten grandchildren. Three children, all of Arkadelphia, Mrs. Glayds Buck, Mrs. Irene Golden, and Howard Williams.
Pallbeares were Virgil Buck, John A. Buck, Will Golden, Joe Golden, Watson Bledsoe, Herschel Owen, Cryil Twigg, Frank Armstrong. Mrs. Williams had a host of frieds who loved her and will miss her. This writer valued her friendship very much. All thru the years we had rough places, disagrements, and misunderstandings, but none of it ever marred or broke up this friendship. She remained true to all things that made up for her a real Christian life. She was very devoted to her children and grandchildren. No grandmother ever loved or did more for her grandchildren. They in return loved and respected her. She has gone where there is no pain. Yes, a place where "we will never grow old."
Not now but in the coming years, it may be in the better land, we will read the meaning of our tears and there sometime will understand, we will catch the broken thread again and finish what we here began. We will know why clouds instead of sun, why hopes are crushed and castles fall, up there sometime we will understand God knows the way. He holds the key. May God bless and reward the faithfulness of her own dear ones who did so much for her.
Mrs. S. D. Tallent.
