Mrs. May Elizabeth Henkel Frech, 62, wife of Mayor William Frech of this city, died Sunday at 6 a.m. at Boyd Memorial Hospital where she had only been a patient a few days although she had been seriously ill for several weeks.

Mrs. Frech was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jake Henkel and was born near Carrollton and lived all of her life in this vicinity. She was a member of the Providence Baptist Church.

Surviving her is her husband and six children. Mrs. Catherine Richards, Mrs. Ellen Rhoades, Paul Frech, Walter Frrech and Gerald Frech of this city and Mrs. Pearl Margaret Raftis of Jerseyville, and eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. George Cunningham of Carrollton and Mrs. Clark Combrink of Kane and two brothers, George Henkel of Hettick and Walter Henkel of Atwood.

The body was at the Mehl funeral home and funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the local Baptist Church with the pastor of the church, the Rev. Laurel Grigg officiating. Burial was in Carter cemetery.
