Anne Patton Coppenger, of Little Rock, was born on July 28, 1950 in Lebanon, Tennessee to Raymond Arthur and Agnes Louise Crow Coppenger. She went peacefully to her heavenly home on Friday, November 23, 2007. Anne taught or assisted Sunday School, mission organizations, and youth programs in the Baptist church. She was a soloist in choir, drama performance and production, including a USO tour in 1971. She also enjoyed calligraphy, needlework and international travel, including two mission trips to Guatemala.

Anne received an M.Ed. in Teaching the Gifted and Talented, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, 1986, M.E. in Elementary Education, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, 1983, B.A. in French, Ouachita Baptist University, Arkadelphia, Arkansas 1972 ,and
Honors Diploma, Arkadelphia High School, Arkadelphia, Arkansas, 1968. Anne recently retired as an instructor, Human Resource Development in Baptist Hospital, Little Rock. She was formerly a facilitator, Sr. High Gifted and Talented Program, department chair. (J.A. Fair High School, Little Rock, AR 1984-86), a part-time secretary and receptionist during graduate school (Young Life Campaign, Campus Crusade for Christ Family Ministry, UALR, Little Rock, AR, 1978-79) and Youth Minister (Staff Representative with Young Life Campaign, Little Rock, AR 1975-78).

She was preceded in death by her mother, Agnes Coppenger.

Survivors include her father, Dr. Raymond A. Coppenger; her brother Dr. Mark Thomas Coppenger and his wife Sharon; her sister Susan Payne Coppenger Akin and her husband Mike; five nieces and nephews: Caleb Coppenger, Jedidiah Coppenger, Chesed Coppenger Broggi, John Akin, and Rebecca Akin and a host of cherished friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday November 25, 2007, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock, and a memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Arkadelphia at 6:30 p.m., followed by a dinner in the church fellowship hall in Arkadelphia. Interment will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Arkadelphia.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, November 24, 2007, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, (501)224-8300.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at Saddle Creek Church, 18020 Cantrell Road, Little Rock, AR 72223; Baptist Health Foundation, 9601 Interstate 630, Exit 7; Little Rock, AR 72205; or Ouachita Baptist University, Raymond and Agnes Coppenger Scholarship Fund, Ouachita Street, Arkadelphia, AR 71923.
