1850 census of Foxcroft, Piscataquis, Maine p273: Wm F Gallison, age 51, born in Windham, Cumberland, Maine, clergyman OSC, listed with wife, Elizabeth, 42 and children, Sylvanus, 19, Wm H, 18, Sarah L, 14, Elinor J, 12 and C F, 7.

From Free Baptist Cyclopedia, pub. 1889: He died at age 59 yrs, of consumption. He was born in Windham, Me, Jan. 14, 1799. At age eighteen, he professed Christ, and was baptized by Rev. C. Phinney in Feb. 1817. He moved to eastern Maine at age twenty-five, and settled in Charlotte, where he married Miss Elizabeth W. Morgan. He united with the Christian church in that place and maintained an outward life beyond reproach. He served his townsmen as officer in the militia and as magistrate. In 1832, he was a member of the State Legislature. In 1834, moving to Dover, Me, he joined the Free Will Baptist church, and the next year began his gospel ministry. He had in early life received a good academic education. He was licensed by the Sebec Quarterly Meeting, in January, 1840, and was ordained in Dover, July 8, 1841. His labors in the ministry were confined mostly to the Sebec Q.M. Several winters he spent in eastern Maine teaching, witnessing frequent revivals. His gift was largely pastoral. After twenty years of service, his health failed. He resigned the offices of clerk and treasurer, which for years he had filled, at the last Q.M., he attended in Sep 1857, at Sangerville. Fourteen ministers attended his funeral.
