Alice Lucille (Fye) Lingenfelter, born in Reynoldsville, Pa., Feb. 6, 1926, left this world in peace Nov. 19, 2007, at the age of 81. Alice was predeceased by her parents, Asa Fye and Jennie (Foltz) Fye; her daughter, Shirley Ann; and her five sisters and brothers, Goldie Henry, Dutch Henry, Pearl Kessler Sweet, Harry Fye and Tommy Fye. As a resident of Erie, Pa., most of her life, she was a homemaker, foster mother, general laborer and a CR at Erie Insurance. Affectionately known as Gram-ma Alice or Gram-ma Link to many, Alice leaves behind her loving husband of 64 years, Larry Lingenfelter; daughters, Joyce Vanderslice and husband Frederick and Virginia Brown; son, Larry R. and wife Teresa; daughters, Janet Pool and husband Stanley, Gretchen Hunt and husband Ken; as well as 13 grandchildren and spouses and 17 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. today in Western Branch Community Center, 4437 Portsmouth Blvd., Chesapeake. Bobbie Sylvia and Jared Snyder will officiate. Also a memorial service will be held Nov. 24, 2007, at 1:30 p.m. in Hickory Grange Hall, Sebula, Pa. Alice will be laid to rest with her daughter, Shirley Ann in the Reynoldsville Cemetery, Reynoldsville, Pa., at a later date.
