OBITUARY
Eliza Blythe was born at Parkerville, Kansas, October 8, 1886, and died at Delavan, Kansas, Wednesday morning, August 21.
She lived in the vicinity of Parkerville until young womanhood. She joined the Baptist church when about 14 years of age. On February 10th, 1907, she was united in marriage to Albert E. Burton, of Delavan. To this union one child was born, Mary Agnes, who died in infancy.
She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, Albert Burton, mother, Mrs. Mary Blythe, six sisters, Mrs. Bell Whitback, of Herington, Mrs. Tora Briix, of Delavan, Mrs. Lizzie Kern, of White City, Mrs. Phoebe Oleson, of Eldorado (sic), Mrs. Della Ruff, of Russell and Mrs. Susie Butts, of Delavan and two brothers, William Blythe, of Russell and Harold Blythe who is somewhere in France.
She was a member of the Royal Neighbors Lodge of Delavan, and a member of the Herington Ladies Band.
Mrs. Burton was a kind and loving wife. Was always of a cheerful disposition. Her friends were numbered by her acquaintances.
The funeral services were held at the M. E. church Thursday afternoon, August 22nd, conducted by Rev. T. P. Henry, assisted by Rev. Clayton. Interment was made in the Delavan cemetery by the side of her little daughter.
With her going we have lost a kind friend, who was ever willing to help anyone in need.
