Daughter of James Jefferson and Irma Mildred Clay (Jones) Snipes. Wrote the book "The Survivors--My Ancestors" a history of the Akers, Anderson, Christy, Drennon, Harvey, Jones, Lindsey, Rodgers, Short, Snipes, Smith, Wagster, and related families.

Cape Girardeau - Justine P. Snipes, 84 years old, of Nashville, Tenn., died Tuesday at the Mariner Health Center in Nashville.
She was born April 17, 1914, in Norge, Okla., the daughter of James J. and Irma Jones Snipes Anderson.
She was formerly of Cape Girardeau. She was a staff member in the House of Representatives.
She was a member of Abigail Hartman Rice chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, Potomac Toastmistress Club, Senate Toastmaster Club and National Genealogy Society.
Survivors include three sisters, Geraldine Wilson, Nadine Purdue and Azilee Lohrke. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery here.
