ROBERT FREELAND DIES. Former Neponset Resident Killed in Wyoming Coal Mine.
Robt. Freeland who was employed as "top man" by the Wyoming Coal Company at their shaft near Wyoming, was struck and instantly killed by a coal cage that was descending from the top of the derrick above the shaft. He formerly resided in Neponset and was a brother-in-law of Roby Rowell's. Mr. Freeland has just leaned his head over the shaft to call to the men below to hoist the water keg, and evidently thought he had time to get out of the way of the descending cage. The deceased was a man with a reputation for integrity and industry, and leaves a wife and several children. The services were held at the Wyoming M.P. chapel, at 10 o'clock Thursday and the remains interred in the Osceola Grove cemetery. Edna Blackburn.
