Doris I. Admire, age 73, of 300 North Jefferson Street, Abingdon, Illinois, passed away at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2000 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, Illinois.


She was born Dec. 21, 1926 in Abingdon, Illinois, the daughter of Cecil E. and Hazel Lane Kilpatrick.


She is survived by five sons, Jack Admire, Jerry Admire and John Admire, all of South Carolina, Norman Admire, Chillicothe, Illinois and Alan Admire, of RR Abingdon, Illinois; four sisters, Shirley Woodside, Abingdon, Illinois, Ida Johnson, Dixon, Illinois, Lois West, Galesburg and Alberta Vallero, Sun City Arizona; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.


She had lived in Abingdon all of her life graduating from Abingdon High School in 1944.

She attended Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg.


She was a waitress at Abbe Lanes Restaurant in Abingdon for 23 years.


Graveside services were held Friday, Jan. 14, 2000 at the Abingdon Cemetery with Eleanor Landon officiating.


Memorials may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Peoria.


Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel in Abingdon was in charge of the arrangements.
