Pilot 17 February 1887
Mr. and Mrs. Martin Murphy's twelve year old son died on last Saturday night and was buried on Monday at the Blair cemetery, Rev. Fr. Killian, of the Catholic church, performing the last sad rites. Only last spring these people lost a daughter, a bright cheery little girl, and this second bereavement in so short a time bears upon them heavily. They have the sympathy of the entire community.
Note: In his mother's obituary (Mary) his name is listed as Daniel.
