Bert Bates, 68, of Warrensburg, died Sunday morning at his home after a long illness. Mr. Bates was a member of Johnsburg Lodge, 541 IOOF. Survivors are his wife Ella, a son Glen H. Bates, of Warrensburg, two sisters; Mrs. Wesley Bennett, of Sauquoit and Mrs. Emerson Lyford of Glens Falls and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Orton & McCloskey Funeral with the Rev. James Pease, pastor of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, officiating. Burial was in Warrensburg Cemetery.
