US Congressman. He was elected to represent Missouri in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1972 until his death in 1976. He had won a primary election for a Senate seat, and was flying to Kansas City, Missouri to celebrate the victory with his wife Sharon Ann Litton, son Scott Stuart Litton, and daughter Linda Lorraine Litton. The plane crashed, and the four Litton's were killed, along with the pilot and pilots son.
