MOULTRIE — Janie "Grace" Gertrude Hufstetler Whittaker, 81, of Gene McQueen Road in Moultrie, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at her residence, after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Temple Baptist Church Chapel with burial in Murphy Cemetery. The Rev. Terry Webb will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Harold Pullen and the Rev. Robert Tilson. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Whittaker was born Aug. 27, 1926, in Worth County to the late Fred and Janie Viola Lawson Hufstetler. She was a hairdresser, a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church, a devoted wife and a loving mother. She enjoyed many interests: cooking, sewing and working with her flowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. Whittaker; a brother, Jewrall Hufstetler; a sister, Luette Clark; and a grandchild, Stan Fox.

Survivors include four sons, Bobby Whittaker and wife Joan of Colquitt, Alan Whittaker and wife Ellen, Link Whittaker, and Andy Whittaker and wife Pamela, all of Moultrie; two daughters, Cherie Cawthorne and husband Jimmy of Millbrook, Ala., and Sonja Fox Dorminey and husband Danny of Moultrie; a brother-in-law, Raymond Clark of Macon; 13 grandchildren, Sally Whittaker Ash and husband Chris, Sam Whittaker, Blake Whittaker, Trista Whittaker and husband Dennis, Ariel Whittaker, Brandon Whittaker, Seth Whittaker, Reed Whittaker, Holli Cawthorne, Matt Cawthorne, Lindsey Cawthorne Boswell and husband Morgan, Star Fox and Joe Fox; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home.

Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
