MY GREAT GRANDFATHER
He was born in Magoffin County, the son of Marion Montgomery and Lorinda (Risner) Montgomery and the grandson of John J. Montgomery and Letty Howard. He was united in marriage to Minta Howard the daughter of Francis Marion Howard and Percilla "Cilla" Howard and the granddaughter of Henry Howard and Elizabeth Cottle. He has four sons Lunda, Dorsey, Patrick and Prather Montgomery. Four daughters, my grandmother Mary Ann Wilson, Hannah Tackett, Wannie Howard and Tealie Tackett. Bill and Mint had 54 grandchildren,88 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Montgomery
Waverly- Mrs. Minta Montgomery,90, of Chillicothe, Route 5,
died at 5a.m. Friday in Chillicothe Hospital after several
years' illness.
She was born April 20, 1876, in Magoffin County, Ky., to
Marion and Cillar Howard. She was married to William
Montgomery, who died in September,1928.
Surviving are three sons, Dorsey, Patrick and Prater, and
four daughters, Mrs. Mary Ann Wilson, Mrs. Hannah Tackett,
Mrs. Wannie Howard and Mrs. Tealie Tackett, all of Chillicothe, Route 5; 54 grandchildren; 88 great grandchildren; 21 great great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Berthine Jenkins of Burndine, Ky., and two brothers, Doc Howard of Chillicothe and Bratch Howard of Salyersville, Ky.
Mrs. Montgomery was a member of the Beaver Valley United
Baptist Church.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Sandy Chapel Baptist
Church with the Rev. Lonnie Murray and the Rev. Floyd Rigsby
officiating. Burial will be in the Sandy Chapel Cemetery.
Friends may call at the A.H. Boyer Funeral Home here after
noon Saturday.
