Junior H. Jackson

Junior Harold Jackson, 81, of Parkersburg passed away April 14, 2006, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

He was born Feb. 14, 1925, in Sherman, W.Va., the son of the late Gay Jackson and the late Carrie Derenberger-Jackson. He was in the U.S. Army's 141st Medical Battalion and was a veteran of World War II. Junior had worked for the B&O Railroad for over 10 years and retired from The General Service Administration in Parkersburg.

He is survived by four daughters, Carol and husband, Allan Rawson, Kathy Jackson, Mary Jackson and Julie and husband, Charles Shingleton, all of Parkersburg; three sons, Harold and wife, Sherry Jackson, of Parkersburg, Phillip Jackson of Pleasant Valley, W.Va., and John and wife, Sharon Jackson, of Parkersburg; one brother, Don and wife, Karen Jackson, of Parkersburg; three sisters, Elizabeth and husband, Roger Whited, Evelyn DeHaven and Madeline Buckley, all of Parkersburg; 10 grandchildren, Aliza Jackson, Lori Walters, Michael Rawson, Tara Jackson, Dustin Jackson, Tyler Jackson, Jennifer and Joel Shingleton and Alexis and Caitlin Jackson; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margret Cook-Jackson; two sisters, Patty Buffington and Irene Lucas; three brothers, Wilford Jackson, Ron Jackson and Clair Jackson; and one granddaughter, Holly Jackson-Wuller.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street, south Parkersburg, with Pastor Mike Seebaugh officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Mineral Wells. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
