German Royalty. Born a princess of Saxony, her father was Duke Friedrich von Sachsen-Altenburg (1763−1834), she later became the queen of Bavaria when she married the (then) Crown Prince Ludwig. Their "wedding reception" in 1810 was the first ever "Oktoberfest". The location of that spectacle is now named "Theresienwiese", and has been the spot for the annual Oktoberfest in Munich ever since. She was the mother of nine children.
