Musician, Composer. Born in Waco, Texas. He was an acclaimed vocalist and guitarist of Country and Western-style songs, during a career that began in the late 1940s. While serving in the United States Navy, Thompson attended Southern Methodist University and Princeton University where he studied electrical engineering. Influenced by singer Gene Autry, Thompson decided to pursue a career in singing and would appear on radio, later recording his first hit "Whoa Sailor". During his career, he would chart 29 top ten songs including, "The Wild Side of Life", "Waiting in the Lobby of Your Heart", "Rub-A-Dub-Dub", "A Six Pack to Go" and "Oklahoma Hills". He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1989. He continued to perform weeks before his death from lung cancer. (bio by: C.S.)

I grew up listening to the 3 Great Hanks - Hank Thompson, Hank Snow, and Hank Williams. I have loved your music my entire life. Thanks for the memories.
