Mr. Trucks was born in Scottville, the son of the late Porter and Sarah Kreigh Trucks. He was Baldwin Village President from 1847-1950.
He resigned that year after being elected to the Michigan House of Representatives, where he served three terms.
Using his experience in construction and plastering, Mr. Trucks bought and remodeled the old Green Front Restaurant and successfully operated Ken's Steak Room for many years. Later, he re-designed, remodeled and expanded the Pattie Drug Co., incorporating the restaurant building.
A year ago, Mr. and Mrs. Trucks sold the drug store to their son David of Reed City and retired to a home they purchased in North Carolina. They continued to maintain a summer home in Lake County.
Mr. Trucks was a member of the Mason Lodge of Lakes 545, OES 494, VFW, Elks, a Shriner, charter member of the Baldwin Rotary, and the American Legion. He served as a Seabee in the South Pacific during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, four sons, four daughters, 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
