WILLIAMS, Mr. Adolph, Sr. - Age 78, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, G-5443 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service at 11AM. Pastor Alfred L. Harris, Sr., officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Tuesday. Mr. Williams will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park blvd., and may be viewed from 2PM-8PM Monday.
Mr. Adolph Williams, Sr. was born November 19, 1928 in Livingston, Alabama, the son of Monroe and Lula Williams. Mr. Williams was united in Holy Matrimony to Ethel Lee Caver in 1952 and to this union 3 children were born. The family relocated to Michigan in 1953 where he worked for General Motors Corporation for over 38 years until his retirement in 1992. Mr. Williams was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church where he served as a member of the Senior Usher Board #4 for over 45 years. Mr. Williams was a Mason and a Shriner. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
Mr. Adolph Williams, Sr. leaves to cherish his memories: loving wife of 55 years, Ethel Williams; 2 daughters, Deborah (Anthony) Pippins of Flint and LaTasha (Roosevelt Jr.) White of Hawthorne, CA; son, Adolph Williams Jr. of Flint; special son, DaPrinte Williams of Hawthorne, CA; 6 grandchildren, Torey (Regina) Pippins of Houston, TX, Sharita (Daquiri) Hines, Laketa Pippins, LaShawna Pippins, all of Flint, Andrea (Markidus) Hall of Ypsilanti, MI and Monquez Pippins of Burbank, CA; 13 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mamie Williams and Sadie (Moses) Williams; 3 brothers, Elijah (Julia) Williams, Otis (Sandra) Williams and Thomas Williams, all of Flint; brother-in-law, Willie (Shirley) Caver, Sr. of Flint; sister-in-law, Betty (Sylvester) Giles of Los Angeles, CA; a host of many other dear relatives and friends including special friends, Otis Mitchell, Dennis Martin, Mike Tabit, Cornelius Jackson and George Burns.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Lula Williams; sisters, Viola McIntire, Maeola Buford, Lucinda Bower and Ella Benefield; and brother, Willie Williams.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hurley Medical Center CCU, Pastor Alfred L. Harris and the entire Macedonia Baptist Church family, special caring sons-in-law, Anthony Pippins and Roosevelt White, Jr.
