A graduate of Western Australia's Academy of Performing Arts, she began her career in radio for stations 6PR and 96FM in Perth. Considered one of the Australia's rising media stars, she won local and national titles for best radio reporting, and was a nominee for "Young Journalist of the Year," an award presented by the National Youth Media Association. In 2003 she joined Network Ten in Sydney, and in 2005 she became a regular co-anchor on the early evening and late night newscasts. She was active in a number of charities and civic affairs, including breast cancer awareness and fund raising for the Perth zoo. Struggling with clinical depression in recent years, she chose to end her life by jumping to her death from a cliff side area known as the GAP, a popular tourist viewpoint located in East Sydney's Watson Bay District.
