Myron H. Ausmus, 93, longtime Lamar County resident who lived at 2420 Bonham St., died there Friday at 1:15 a.m. The funeral Saturday at 4 p.m. will be conducted in Fry and Gibbs chapel by the Rev. Jack McNabb of Garrett Memorial Methodist Church where Mr. Ausmus was a member. Interment to be made in Restland Cemetery at Roxton. He leaves these children: Mrs. Joe Holman, Paris; Mrs. Verlie Hall, Idabel,Okla.; Miss Theresa Ausmus, Knoxville, Tenn.; Earl Ausmus, Garvin, Okla. and M.C. Ausmus, Dallas; 20 other descendants; sisters; Mrs. T.R. Tugwell, Dallas; Mrs. Hogan Clark, Texarkana and Mrs. Anthony Paness, and a brother, Bill Ausmus, both of Paris.
Born at Mount Sterling, Ill., 15 Nov 1871, a son of John H. and Mary Maria Colquitt Ausmus, M.H. Ausmus came as a child to Lamar County with his parents and attended old Rice school at Ambia. He had been a merchant and sawmill operator in this area and Choctaw County, Oklahoma, returning here in 1942. He had been a Mason, and belonged to the Methodist Men and his church's Brotherhood Class. He married Miss Eliza Ann Martin in 1900, and she died in 1908. Miss Beulah Finch, whom he married two years later, died in 1949.
