Samuel was born Tuesday (yom shlishi) June 30, 1908 (Tammuz 1, 5668).

He died of a heart attack Monday (yom sheni) August 13, 1956 (Elul 6, 5716) at the age of 48.

He was the son of David Swedlow and Sara "D'vora" Sverdlov.

Samuel, at the age of 5, emigrated from Latvia (Libau, Germany?) January 23, 1913 with his parents and younger brother, Morris "Mo" and younger sister, Ida. They sailed on the S.S. "Birma" and arrived at Ellis Island February 15, 1913. Samuel's sister, Rebecca "Ippie" was born 1915 in New York.

He lived with his parents and siblings on Tiffany St, New York City, NY from 1924 to 1932.

Samuel and Edna Katz were married February 8 1933 at 1151 Hoe Ave, Bronx, NY by Rabbi Abraham Aronowitz, witnesses, Abraham Goldsmitch and Morris Kirschner.

Samuel and Edna lived on Water Street, New York City in February 1942, moved to Wing Lane, Levittown, New York City in 1951, moved to the Bronx in 1953 for a few months and then the family moved to Beach Channel Drive, Far Rockaway, NY.

He was pre-deceased by his parents and was survived by his wife and three sons, Morty, Howard, and David.
