Bob Lee Creeden, 82, a former Sublette resident, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at Lake Wales Hospital in Lake Wales, Fla.
He was born March 22, 1925, in Liberal, to E.C. and Martha Henrietta Dye Creeden.
Mr. Creeden joined the Navy, serving as a gunner during World War II aboard Navy Destroyers and was awarded the bronze medal. He became a member of the Fleet Reserves during his retirement in San Diego. He loved spending time with his family, reading, puzzles, computer games and watching football after his retirement.
On Jan. 31, 1963, he married Joyce Briggs Townsend. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Karen Creeden of San Diego, and Melody Epson of Orlando, Fla.; a son, Patrick Townsend of Lake Wales; two grandchildren; three brothers, Bill Creeden of Pensacola, Fla., Ben Creeden of Garden City, and Jim Creeden of Sublette; four sisters, Nita Sunderland of Satanta, Joan Moore of Dodge City, Jane Deewall of Coldwater, and Mary Allingham of San Diego; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Bobby and Frankie; two brothers, Dorsey and Jack Creeden; and a sister, Wanda West.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Haskell County Cemetery, Sublette, with military rites conducted.
Cremation has taken place. There was no visitation.
