Fred served as a PFC US Army in the Medic Division during WW 1. At age 24 he was inducted on December 19th,1917. He saw action in the battles of Bacarat,Oise-Aisne, Meuse and the Argonne Forest in France. Following the end of World War 1, he was discharged at Camp Upton, Yaphank, N.Y on July 2nd, 1919.
