Arthur Tice, 64, of Holida Street died at City Hospital at 9 p.m. Friday following a six week illness.
He was born in Kittanning, Pa., Feb. 9, 1923, a son of Arthur Perry Tice and Sadie Roush Tice.
He lived most of his life in this vicinity. He retired from Mackintosh-Hemphill in 1983 as a shipper after 33 1/2 years with the firm.
Mr. Tice was a veteran of World War II. He served in the U.S. Army, participating in the Normandy Invasion and the campaigns of Northern France, Ardenne Forest, and Rhineland. He was the recipient of five Bronze Stars.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 121 and VFW Post 66.
He married Myra V. Seevers on Feb. 1, 1950, in Weirton, W. Va.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a stepmother, Martha Tice, of Fombelle, Pa., who reared him from an early age; a son, Charles Allmon of Sanford, N.C.; a daughter, Mrs. Leroy (Jeannette) Nease of East Liverpool; two brothers, Harry M. Tice of Rochester, Pa., and Joseph L. Tice of New Brighton, Pa.; and six grandchildren.
Services are to be held at the Martin Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Harold Haire of the Oakland Free Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Calcutta United Presbyterian Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
