| Birth: | Aug. 9, 1914 Gallatin County Montana, USA | | Death: | Dec. 26, 2006 San Blas Nayarit, Mexico | Charles L. Anceney of Big Sky, a well-known legend in these parts, died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, in Mexico. He was 92. His father started the Flying D Ranch, and Chuck was born on Aug. 11, 1914, and raised there. They made frequent trips to Mexico to buy cattle for the ranch, and he had many adventures. Chuck suffered a heart attack in La Playa de los Cocos and was immediately rushed by friends and his long-time friend and companion, Joelle Ann Beardsley, to the nearby Mexican Naval Base Hospital in San Blas, Nayarit, Mexico. The Navy staff, dressed immaculately in their Navy whites, were quick, excellent, efficient and kind, and they knew exactly what they were doing. They immediately stopped his pain and he felt at home with them and was able to point out his U.S. naval aviator's belt buckle and tell them he was one of them. They did everything they could for him and brought him back to life three times. One of the doctors had tears in his eyes when Chuck passed. Joelle was at his side the whole time. Chuck is survived by three children, Chuckie Jr. of California, Katie and William of Colorado, and his long-time friend and companion, Joelle Ann Beardsley. He will be sorely missed.
