Thomas was the fifth child of Samuel and Mary Wilton Marshall, born February 23, 1663 at Windsor, Connecticut. He was mentioned in the will of his grandfather, Lt. David Wilton. He married Mary Drake, daughter of John Drake and Hannah Moore, March 3, 1685/6, at Windsor. They were the parents of eleven children. He was a deacon of the church at Windsor. Thomas was an original proprietor of Torrington, Connecticut, but he never settled there. After the death of Mary in 1728, he married Elizabeth, last name unknown. Thomas died at Windsor on November 8, 1735 and is buried in the Palisado Cemetery. His will is dated June 5, 1734. In it, he mentions his "present" wife Elizabeth; sons Samuel, Daniel, Thomas and deceased son John; daughters Mary Wilson and Eunice Marshall. He also mentions John's children Ichabod and Eunice, and granddaughters Ester, Katherine and Ann Fowler, who must be daughters of a deceased daughter.
