Manny Abelove, 98, of Utica, and DelRay Beach , FL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 20, 2007, at his residence. He was born on April 11, 1909, in Bialystok, Poland, the son of the late Meyer and Frieda Abelove. On August 1, 1939, he arrived in this country. Manny enlisted in the United States Army in 1941 serving during World War II until December 17, 1945. On March 11, 1951, he married Martha Ben in Temple Beth El, Utica. Mr. and Mrs. Abelove have been lifelong residents of the Utica area. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Martha; his daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Edward Luria of South Windsor, CT; his son and daughter-in-law, Marc and Colleen Abelove of Louisville, KY; his grandchildren, Rebecca Abelove, Joshua Abelove, Daniel Luria and Eric Luria. His graveside services will be held 1:15 PM, Monday, in Temple Beth El Cemetery, Wood Rd, Whitesboro. Shiva will be observed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at the family home. Contributions, in Manny's memory, may be offered to Congregation Zvi Jacob. His funeral arrangements are with Jacobson-Pizer Funeral Chapel, Inc., 1123 Court Street, Utica.
