Mrs. Lanham was born the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gale Taylor on July 20, 1871, in Middleburg, Ky. She lived in Kentucky for several years and moved to Bloomington before coming to Decatur. Her first husband, Jeff Short, died 55 years ago. She later married Elzie Lanham, who is living in Decatur. She was a member of the Church of God in Decatur.
She leaves four children, Mrs. Maud Emmett of Peoria, V. S. Short of Brookfield, Mo., Taylor Lanham of St Louis and Marvin Lanham of Cincinnati, Ohio. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Mary Allen of Dayton, Ky., and one brother, F. W. Taylor of Gastonia, N. C.
The body is at the Moran and Sons funeral home where friends may call. Funeral services will be held at Moran's at 3 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery." The Decatur Daily Review (Decatur, Illinois), November 29, 1946
