Michael was born in Kemjonka Czechoslovakia the son of Martha (Matolyak) and Michael Ondrejik Sr. He was the second of five children. His sisters/brothers were: Mary (Ondrejik) (Zamesko) Sokolovsky, Nicolas, John, Ann (Ondrejik) Cybulsky and Steve. John and Steve did not immigrate to the United States.

He married Julia Lickvar and they had 5 children: Michael, Ann, Martha, Nicholas, Julia and John. After Julia died, Michael married Theresa Sivulka and they had 2 children: Charles and Joseph.

Michael retired from Bethlem Steel Co, Johnstown plant. He was the past treasurer of Christ the Saviour Church and controller of SS Peter & Paul Lodge.
