Mary Emzie Patterson Albright, 90, passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, at 6:35 a.m. at the St. Luke's Nursing Center, Carthage.

She was born April 3, 1917, in Arcadia, Kan., the daughter of Charles Edward Hamilton and Amie (McFadden) Hamilton. Her Parents preceded her in death.

She was a graduate of Arcadia High School, Arcadia, Kan., and Pittsburg State University, formerly the Kansas State Teachers College, Pittsburg, Kan.


She married Delbert Patterson on Jan. 1, 1938, in Joplin. He preceded her in death on April 20, 1990.

She later married Kenneth Albright on Feb. 14, 1992, in Carthage. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1995.

A sister, Willa Niggly also preceded her in death.

She was a teacher for many years and taught in many rural schools before retiring from Fairview Elementary School in 1975.

Music was a very important part of her life and she passed this on to her children as well as many others as a piano teacher.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, the Missionary Guild, the Retired Teachers Association and the Mr. & Mrs. Sunday School Class.

A son Charles "Chuck" Patterson, and Wife Judi, Joplin, two daughters, Janice Smith and Husband Gene, Webb City, Margaret Snyder and husband, Ron, Carthage, a step-daughter, Pamela Albright, Goodman, MO, 11 grandchildren, Michael Palmer, Michelle Morgan and husband Jeff, Tami Lee and husband Jason, Stephanie Kitchingham, and husband, Jack, Stacey Ralston, Amie Dawson and husband Greg, Andy Cooper and wife Jen, Rusty Snyder and wife Kim, Robyn McKee and husband Tim, Tim Snyder and Tony Snyder, 16 great- grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild survive her.

A visitation will be held Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Knell Mortuary.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 15, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church. Ministers David Cook and Bob Lyttle will officiate. Interment will be in the Park Cemetery.
