Winona – Services for Thomas Jefferson Shamburger, 81, Winona, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church of Winona with the Rev. David Morget officiating.
Burial will be in Red Springs Cemetery under direction of Burks-Walker-Tippit Funeral Home, Tyler.
Mr. Shamburger died Jan. 10 in a Tyler nursing home.
He was born May 3, 1916, in Pine Springs community and was a lifelong resident of Winona. He was retired owner and operator of Gumwood Nursery and a truck driver from 1937-1965, and owner and operator of Winona Texaco Station from 1965 until retirement. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Winona.
Survivors include his wife, Leola McClenny Shamburger, Winona; son, Judge Mitch Shamburger, Winona; daughters, Perry Jones, Winona, and Suzie Cole, Las Vegas, Nev.; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers include Ray Jones, Ron Cole, Arden Miller, Jeff Miller, Jerome Murphy and Noah Shamburger.
Honorary pallbearers are Leon Norman, Don Hastings, Paul Murphy, Jasper Johnson, E.E. Riley, Billy Perkins, Dwight Harris and Joe Lowery.
Family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
