Mrs. Christian Faser, Sr., one of Winona's most beloved matrons passed away at her home on Summit Street Tuesday night after an illness of several months. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Moore Memorial Methodist Church with the Rev. W. P. Bailey and the Rev. R. S. Lowe officiating. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery under the direction of Lee Funeral Home.
Mrs. Faser, the former Miss Pearl Wrenn, was born in Shaw on June 11, 1887, the daughter of the late Mary Stacy and R. G. Wrenn. In 1906 she married Christian Faser, a former Winona druggist who died in a plane crash in 1955.
Mr. and Mrs. Faser moved to Winona from Monroe, La., in 1940 where they opened and operated Faser Drugs. Mrs. Faser was associated with her husband in the drug business until his death. She was a member of the Moore Memorial Methodist Church, the Woman's Society of Christian Service and the Winona Woman's Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. J. W. Stanard of Baton Rouge, La.; two sons, Christian Faser, Jr., of Winona and Lt. Col. Karl Edward Faser of Camp Lejuene, N.C.; a sister, Mrs. M. Q. Murphy of Indianola; five grandchildren, Christian Faser, III, of Winona, Karl and Karen Faser of Camp Lejuene, N.C., Mrs. Trezevant Owen, III, and Mrs. Clarence A. Lorio, Jr., both of Baton Rouge; and 7 great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Tom Tardy, Jr., Dr. E. W. Holmes, Ellis Hart, W. P. Kelly, all of Winona, Trezevant Owen of Baton Rouge, La., and A. W. Morton of Greenwood.
