JAMES W. GREEN DIES AT HOSPITAL
FORMER CUSTODIAN IN CITY SCHOOLS SUCCUMBS AFTER EXTENDED ILLNESS
James W. Green, age 68, who for more than 20 years has served as a custodian for the city schools, died Tuesday morning at 1:50 o'clock at Culver hospital where he had been seriously ill since December 12.
Born December 25, 1872, near Crawfordsville, Mr. Green was united in marriage with Minnie hall June 23, 1901. He was a member of the First Christian church. Everyman's class of church, Modern Woodmen lodge, and Ben Hur Life Association. He also was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose.
Surviving are a son, Donald; four grandchildren, Earl, Donald, Jr., David and Carol, and a daughter-in-law, Marie Green, all of this city. The wife preceded him in death in January 1940.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Hunt & Reeves funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Million of the First Christian church officiating. Burial will be made at Oak Hill cemetery.
The body was taken to the late residence at 305 High street, where friends may pay their respects preceding the rites.
