Geneva was the daughter of Charlie Gaston Bass and Jennie (Herring) Bass.

She married Wilbur Daniel "Chris" Christenburg on September 3, 1938 in Dillon County, South Carolina. They had 2 children.

1--Johnny Mack [1940-2008]
2--Linda Faye [1946-????]

OBITUARY:

GENEVA CHRISTENBURG

Hamer - Mrs. Geneva Christenburg, 84, died Tuesday, February 10 2004. She was born in Robeson County, N.C. a daughter of the late Charlie Gaston and Jennie Herring Bass and was the widow of Wilbur Daniel "Chris" Christenburg.

Mrs. Christenburg was a member of Kentyre Presbyterian Church where she was an Elder, former Sunday School teacher, member of Woodman of the World, a member of Yellow Jessamine Garden Club, past president and was serving as chaplin of the garden club.

Surviving are son Johnny Mack (Beverly) Christenburg of Batesburg-Leesville, daughter Linda Christenburg Moody (Lloyd) Brown of Calhoun, Ga; grandchildren John Christopher "Mackie" Christenburg, Wendy Ann Christenburg Parker, Johnny Mack "John" Christenburg II, Melinda "Missy" Moody, Barbara "Bobbie" Moody Cutler and great grandchildren Lauren Christenburg, Heather Parker, Matt Christenburg, Michael Christenburg, Kristin "K. T." Taylor Cutler.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 13, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at Kentyre Presbyterian Church with burial in the church cemetery directed by Kannaday's Funeral Home of Dillon.

Geneva was married to my 4th cousin.

Note: Geneva was the second woman to be elected and serve as Elder of Kentyre Presbyterian Church. She served until her death in 2004. She also served as Moderator of the Presbyterian Women.
