US Congressman. Elected to represent Illinois' 4th and 11th Districts in the United States House of Representatives, he served from 1989 to 1995. He was also a member of the Illinois State House of Representatives from 1973 to 1977, the Illinois State Senate from 1977 to 1987, and was an unsuccessful candidate in the primary for Lieutenant Governor of Illinois in 1986. Veteran of US Army Korean War.
