Waylan Ray Cobb, 84, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2014.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, November 29, at OakCrest Funeral Home. Burial will be in the China Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, November 28, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd
Waylan was born on December 30, 1929 in Blue Ridge, Texas to George W. Cobb and Eula May Lane Cobb in Waco. He graduated High School and attended College. He married Susie D. McKenzie, she preceded him in death. He was a farmer and rancher, as well as being Operator of the China Spring Cross Country Water Corp. He also worked for the Waco Center for Youth. Waylan was a member of the First Baptist Church of China Spring.
He is survived by sons, Larry Cobb and wife, Sally, Benjamin Cobb and wife, Jane; brother, George Cobb and wife, Betty; foster son, Johnny Huffman; grandson, Michael Cyrus Cobb and wife, Lisa; great-grandchildren, Waylan Ralph Cobb, Genevive Leona; and, as well as several step grandchildren and great grand children. Waylan was preceded in death by his wife Susie, daughter, Susan Michelle, and sister, Bobbie Loftin. Pallbearers will be Billie Joe Mercer, Jerry Trout, Danny Trout, John Smith, Johnny Binder, and Clint Binder. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of China Spring or United Methodist Church of China Spring.
