Leland was born on August 19, 1936 in Blair, Nebraska the son of William and Alice (Petersen) Vogt. He attended Blair Schools then enlisted in the Army Reserves. On September 24, 1960 he married Marsha Rosenbaum and together raised their 3 children, Lee, Vicki, and Audra. Leland spent his whole life farming, even in his retirement. He enjoyed his travels, coffee with his buddies, going for drives and going out to eat. He never knew a stranger and always enjoyed visiting with anyone.
For anyone that knew him, just a mention of his name would bring a smile to their face at the thought of a memory or time spent with Leland. He was a man whose presence was known, his light was bright and his heart generous with so many. He always had a way of making you feel good. He was such a hard working and loving family man. Leland had a point and a wink in a crowd that would always make you smile. His home was always open and small talk had no end. He will always be remembered for willingness to help anyone, his light will be missed by many.
Leland is survived by his special friend and companion Judy Thompson, son Lee (Peter DiLeo) Vogt, daughter Vicki (Craig) Christensen Loos, daughter Audra (Tim) Barner, grandchildren; Craig, Chelsea (Grant) Lurvey, Clara and Maggie, great grandchildren; Reid and Ryker Lurvey, along with brother Glen (Betty) Vogt.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Marsha.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
