MRS. JOHN LOTHROP

Mrs. John Lothrop, well known resident of this city for many years, passed away at the Blair hospital Monday, Sept. 12th at the age of 81 years, 11 months.

Hortense Lothrop was born in Oakland County, Michigan Oct. 2, 1851 where she grew to womanhood.
She was the youngest of a large family of children, being a granddaughter of a soldier of the Revolutionary War.
In 1879 she was married to John Lothrop at Grand Rapids, Michigan near which place she lived for several years.

In 1882 she came to Blair, making this her home until her death. Her husband, formerly a well known attorney here, preceded her in death several years ago.

She leaves to mourn her passing four sons and a daughter; Clarence Lathrop, Ashley Lathrop and Norman Lathrop of Blair; Grant Lathrop of Stanton County, Nebr. and Mrs. Maude Harden of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.

Funeral services are to be held this Thursday afternoon at the Bendorf Funeral Home with Rev. T. J. Reese officiating, and interment will be made in the Blair cemetery.
