Mr. McLoy Bennett, 91, died Saturday (May 18, 2002) at Satilla Regional Medical Center following a short illness.

He was a native of Ware County and had resided most of his life in Ware County. He was son of the late Ezra Bennett and Rachel Tuten Bennett.

He was a retired self employeed bee keeper and business man. Mr. Bennett was a member of First Baptist Church.

The survivors include his wife, Helen King Bennett of Waycross; three daughters, Connie Wheeler of Alma, Marie Phillips of Blakely, Linda Wilbor of Charlotte, North Carolina; two sons, Loy Woodrow Bennett of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., Carrol L. Bennett of Fairmount; two sisters, Pauline Grover of Waycross, and Virginia Bennett of Waycross; two brothers, Knobby Bennett and John Bennett of Waycross; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends at Music Funeral Home Sunday night from 7 until 9 o'clock.
