PHILLIPS, PEARL MAY – age 65, of Norma, passed away Thursday, August 12, in the St. Mary's Hospital. She was the widow of the late Tom Phillips. She was a member of the Baptist church, a splendid woman and had a host of friends. She is survived by her father, Henry Bunch of Norma, 2 sons, Clyde Philips of Maryville and Claude Phillips of Charlotte, N. C.; 2 daughters, Faye Phillips of Norma and Mrs. Paul Edmondson of Knoxville; 2 sisters, Mrs. W. M. Long of Oneida and Mrs. John Newport of LaFollette. 6 grand children. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Norma Baptist Church with the Rev. L. M. Jeffers officiating. Burial followed in the Norma Cemetery. West in charge.
