aka: "Dovie", d/o James P. & Martha Jane (Reed) Rhodes. Married (1) James Archibald Hennessee, s/o Archibald Hugh & Mary (Hayes) Hennessee. Widowed abt 1901, Dovie married (2) James Marcus Hayes Sept 12, 1910, also a widower. His 1st wife was Frances Hayes the biological sister of Dovie.
Dovie raised her sister's daughters "Rosetta and Ethel" as her own children instead of as nieces.

Alta Dovie Hayes Rites. Services were held this afternoon for Mrs. Alta Dovie Hayes, 84, mother of Mrs. Rosetta Foster Clark, 1014 Timmons, City.;
Mrs. Hayes d. Mon. in South Community Hospital in Okla. City. Hospitalization was necessatated when Mrs. Hayes suffered a stroke while living in Four Seasons Nursing home at Okla. City. Mrs. Hayes was a former resident of Pioneer Nursing Home, City. She was a longtime Seminole resident.
Mrs. Hayes was a member of the Church of Christ.
Services were in Sommerville-Swearingen-Arnhart chapel. Mrs. Wilson Wallace, Church of Christ minister, officiated.
Burial was in Little cemetery.
Mrs. Hayes is survived by two stepdaughter, Mrs. Rosetta Foster Clark & Mrs. Ethel Taylor of Oklahoma City;
17 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
