Addie Ruth Clarke, age 80 of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday evening March 11, 2000 at Loudon Health Care Center. Addie Ruth was a long time member of the First Baptist Church. She was a past president of the Lenoir City Pilot Club and served multiple terms as president of the Lenoir City Clionian Club. In the latter position, she contributed significant to the relocation and improvement of the Lenoir City Public Library. Addie Ruth was an employee of the Loudon County government, retiring from the Office of the County Court Clerk. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Adair Clarke. Parents, Charles Hobart Clark and Minnie Jay Cardwell Clark. Survivors: Sister, Mrs. A.C. (Eileen) Norris of Crofton, MA, Brothers, Captain William E. Clark (USN Ret) of Lenoir City, Paul C. Clark of Surgoinsville, Charles H. Clark, Jr. of Huntsville AL, and Dr. Curtis V. Clark of Indianapolis, IN, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12-1:45 PM Tuesday at Click Funeral Home with graveside services to follow at 2 PM at the Loudon County Memorial Gardens.
