Services for Mrs. Alice Marie Lundgren, 45, of 4885 N.W. Fifty-first St., who died of cancer at Northwest Community Hospital Saturday [May 11, 1974] after a nine-month illness, will be at the Merle Hay Funeral Home Chapel at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Burial will be at Chapel Hill Gardens.
Born in Gettysburg, S.D., Mrs. Lundgren had lived here 19 years. She was a member of St. Mary of Nazareth Catholic Church and the Johnston PTA, and she was a past president of the Beverdale Post 9127 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Ellis T; two sons, David Lee at home and Mark Ellis, stationed with the Air Force at Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Mrs. Lois Marie Potter of Des Moines; her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Ed Opelt of Estherville; two sisters, Mrs. Doris Wycoff and Mrs. Mary Lou Egeland, both of Estherville; one brother, John Edward Opelt of San Diego, Calif.; and one grandson.
A rosary will be recited at the Merle Hay Funeral Home Chapel at 7:30 p.m. today. (Des Moines Register, Des Moines, IA, May 13, 1974)
