William M. (Bill) Quick, son of Eli and Drucilla (Turner) Quick, was born Bet. August 9 - September 9, 1839 in Inman, Fayette County, Georgia, and died Bet. September 13-18, 1915 at 66 years and 12 days of age [stated on tombstone] in Coweta County, Georgia.

He married (1) Sarah Jane Moses Bef. 1865 in Fayette County, Georgia, daughter of David Moses and Martha McCrary. She was born September 13, 1842 in Fayette County, Georgia, and died 1885 in Fayette County, Georgia. He married (2) Colin Missouri Jones September 10, 1885 in Inman, Fayette County, Georgia. She was born August 6, 1854 in Georgia, and died August 3, 1929 in Coweta County, Georgia.

Most of the following notes come from several GEDCOMS found while searching Quick family trees on RootsWeb.

Married Sarah Jane (stepdaughter to his grandfather Moses T. Turner). They had 7 children [I have 9 listed]. She was a member of Liberty Chapel, Inman, Fayette County, Georgia, record shows she died 1885 and was removed from rolls. Most likey buried in an unmarked grave in Old Liberty Chapel Cemetery, Fayette County, Georgia.

Married Colin Missouri Jones on September 10, 1885 in Fayette, County and had another 7 children. Bill marries Colin Missouri Jones in 1885; there will be no census for 1890 due to a fire in Washington, D.C.; from the ages of these children research suggest she died shortly after the last child Emily was born. We have Cora Quick a daughter being born 1862 in the William and Missouri household; could this be the same child as Martha? This is yet to be defined. William M. "Bill' Quick and wife Sarah our source was the Family Bible of Mrs. J. H. Couch ( 29 Mar 1944. Also Mrs Judy Quick.

Wm B. Quick member of Liberty Chapel Methodist Church was dropped by a vote of the church 21 Jun 1890. Elijah B. Weldon L.

Mrs. Judy Quick of Texas, has a copy of the Family Bible of Mrs. John Henry (Emma) Couch dated which bears out some information.

Mrs. Jean Hull, Bill's great granddaughter said, "Bill Quick and his two brothers and families moved to Birmingham Ala. He and his family stayed 1 year and return back to live near Bethel Church in Coweta Co. Upon his return Mrs. Hull said it was passed down through her family that Bill said all of his family was dead. He had no living relatives.

There are many birth dates for Bill due to his trying to get his indigent Pension for his time spent in the Civil War. If we go according to his number of years listed on his tombstone he would have been born 6 September 1849 but his researchers believe his true birth date to be 9 September 1839 that a ten year different in his age. But to get his Civil War pension he must be 70 years of age or more. He began to apply for his pension in 1899 according to the paper work and his age then would have only been 50 years old so if he added ten years that would not have help either for he would have only been 60 years old. We may never know the true birthday of Bill but we will search till be do. One fact that is correct with in 5 years either way is that he was listed in the 1850 Georgia Census with his mother and father at the age of nine. Now subtract that from 1850 his birth range could be 1851 or between 1846 and 1856 none of these dates would add up to his receiving his civil war pension. If born 1846 he would have been 70 in 1916 , or 1851 he would have been 70 in 1921 see how it goes. Given his death date and subtracting the age that is printed on the Tombstone he would have been born [in 1849].

Mrs. Jean Hull and Mrs. Judy Quick, are researching the possiblity that Sarah Ann Bill's first wife may be the Step Daughter to Bill's grandfather Moses Turner. Moses married Martha Moses.
