He was born in Taunton, MA; moved to Gardiner, Kennebec Co.,ME; then to Bureau Co., IL and eventually to Cheney, WA. He also went "around the Horn" to the California gold rush, but did not make his fortune and returned.
He moved to Washington state in 1883. Said by daughter Clara to have been charming, outgoing, and popular. He loved horses and brought a Clydsdale stallion and 3 mares to Washington state with him on the train. Ran a horse ranch and livery stable, bred draft horses.
A distant cousin of Noah Dean Dennis' first wife, Esther Webb, Webster B. Webb, also lived in Cheney, WA. Both went to the California gold rush in 1860. Webster B. Webb lived and mined in Montana for many years and married Etta Cheney, a relative of Benjamin Cheney, for whom the town of Cheney, WA, is named. Webster's mother was also a Cheney. He came back to IL and accompanied NDD in his moved from Buda, IL to Cheney, WA in 1883 and was apparently a partner in the Clydsdale horse venture, which failed. Webster B. Webb and some of his children and grandchildren are buried next to Noah Dean Dennis in Green Mound Cemetery in Cheney, WA.
Noah Dean Dennis was married three times:

2) Sarah M. (Wilber) Petteys (widow) 1 child died in infancy
