David Christy
Bloomfield - David Christy, 90, a retired Davis county farmer, died Monday at 1 p.m. in the home of his daughter Mrs. Opal Cameron, in Bloomfield .
The son of Hugh and Mary Fisk Christy, he was born June 5, 1866 near Floris. He had farmed there until his retirement, 16 years ago. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Freda Carroll, Mrs. Opal Cameron, a d Mrs. Eva Baker of Bloomfield and Mrs. Myrtle Daugherty of Cedar; four sons, Stewart Christy of Bloomfield, Floyd and William Christy of Downers Grove, Illinois, and Harry Christy of Columbus Junction; one brother, Eph Christy of Ottumwa; 19 grandchildren and great grandchildren and great - g reat grandchildren. His wife and 3 sons preceded him in death.
The funeral will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Floris Baptist church, conducted by the Rev. Harold Garoutte of the Bloomfield Baptist church. Burial will be in the Floris cemetery. The casket will be taken from the funeral home in Bloomfield to the church in Floris at 11:00 a.m. on Thrusday. Grandsons will be pallbearers.
