Anna L. McGaha, 94, of Newport, went to be with her Lord Monday, January 22, 2007, at Newport Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a homemaker and a member of Northport Baptist Church.

Anna is preceded in death by her husband, John McGaha; her parents, David Messer and Harriet (Jones) McGaha; one son, William Isaac McGaha; one sister, Deliah Ball; one brother, Thurman Messer; one granddaughter, Harriet Hill; one great-granddaughter, Amanda McGaha; and one great-grandson, Billy Ray Fox.

She is survived by her children, Ruth Hill and John and wife, Selma McGaha, both of Newport; one sister, Lydia Medley, of Newport; three brothers, Cecil Messer, of North Dakota; A.D. Messer, of Newport; and Edgar Messer, of White Pine. She will also be sadly missed by her 14 grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 25, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. in Freeman Cemetery (Ravens Branch).
