I looked last year for his burial in Gosport Cemetery and not finding it checked the book written by the Marion Co. genealogical society. It had a notation at the end of the listing of names for Gosport this notation: The following are names of persons taken from the death records of Marion County, Iowa, Books 1-7, listed as having been buried in the Gosport Cemetery, but no tombstone was found for them: and the name of Bachman, Janet Kay 13 Jan 1939 - 15d (Bk. 4, Pg. 36) and Bachman, Joel 30 Dec 1926 - 86y (Bk. 3, Pg. 58) The genealogical society book was compiled in 1974 and of course the WPA information was done in the 30's. I believe their might have been a funeral home marker for Joel at one time which disappeared by the time the genealogical society did their survey. - Source: Alice Enfield.
