Monsignor Patrick J. Hessian, Born May 20, 1928. Raised in Belle Plaine, Minnesota. Ordained a Catholic Priest May 30, 1953. Assigned Saint James Parish, Saint Paul. Entered the U.S. Army Reserve 1958. Served on active duty, 1963 to 1986. Retired from U.S. Army as Chief of Chaplains, rank of Major General. Was Director of Development for the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, 1988 to 1991. Assisted on weekends at a number of parishes then and thereafter.

Survived by siblings, Robert E. (Helen) Hessian of Minneapolis, MN, Joann (Alvin) Heinz of Henderson, MN, Thomas (Bunny) Hessian of Shakopee, MN, Sheila (Greg) Dorneman of Carlos, MN, Michael (Cynthia) Hessian of Farmington, MN, Marguerite (Pete) Kaczynski of Lakeville, MN, many nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends all over the world.

Died September 8, 2007. Mass of the Resurrection at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church, Belle Plaine, MN at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 13, 2007. Visitation two hours prior to Mass at church.

Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Belle Plaine, MN. May he rest in peace in God's Love!

A TRULY FINE MILITARY OFFICER AND A MOST INSPIRATIONAL INDIVIDUAL, HE WAS A RECIPIENT OF THE SOLDIER'S MEDAL, A SELDOM AWARDED BRAVERY MEDAL FOR HEROISM NOT IN THE FACE OF THE ENEMY.
